I Liz, I grew up in Memphis and started playing both around Memphis and out side of Memphis about 1970. I went back and forth between local to on the road including several tours overseas including Great Britain and Europe in 74. I moved to the biz side in 82 and owned a Booking & Mgmt agency called Sight & Sound Entertainment. I was also a founding member of the Blues Foundation and created and started the National Armature Blues Talent Contest (name later changed to IBC.) I also headlined the Blues Foundation Beale Street Blues Festival in 1982 -- that was my last professional performance. From 1982 until 1988, I was into just about everything going on in Memphis Music. If you were around at that time, we more than likely crossed paths. I left music at the end of 1988 and didn't do much until 2002 other than I continued to write songs. Since then I've played with a couple of Arkansas based bands up in NC AR and have been going to Memphis whenever I can get all my music friends together to work on a new CD that will be Rockin' Boogie & Blues. I wrote most of the tunes and have a two that were written by friends and 4 co-written with me along with two cover tunes. Hope to have it finished by end of year, but it's been slow because the five main people on the production are spread out over 2 states and 5 cities.
Are you playing much and what part of the state do you live in? Do you write?
